Peng Has A Personality

When we went in our for our appointment with Dr. Peng last Friday (after Thanksgiving), we had what I would say was our first non-fertility conversation with Peng. It was unbelieveable! Wouldn't you know, Peng is a t-sip and consequently a big t-sip football fan. I would even go so far as to say that he was "very" interested in the situation then befalling the t-sips - the fact that they had previously beaten OU but may not make it to either the Big 12 or National Championship games, while OU might.

He was so engrossed in this topic that when he was using the ultrasound to determine the number of follicles Lisa had...he was still talking about the BCS and all the possible outcomes (OU and Tech had not yet played their final regular season games). It was kind of like witnessing a child who has been bummed for a long time finally get excited about something. We wanted to promote this "human" side of the Peng-bot, but alas, we also wanted him to concentrate on the situation at hand (i.e., the follicles), too. Amazingly, Peng wanted to slip in just a few more comments about t.u. and OU and Tech before we met with the nurse. It was really funny just how into all this he was. And as one who follows the stuff, I can say he was very knowledgeable.

Hopefully we satisfied his craving to talk Big 12 football. Unfortunately, I do not think he will accept such joy as partial payment for services rendered.
